Mercor is a Xero-based accounting firm offering a fully remote, part-time Tax & Business Services Accountant role (approx. 30 hours/week). You will manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling taxation and business advisory services with a supportive, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CA or CPA qualification or progress toward it is preferred.
• 2–4 years of Australian Public Practice experience in Business Services and Tax.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Prepare and review BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations.
• Assist with tax planning and identify tax-efficient opportunities.
• Support business advisory and Virtual CFO engagements with the Principal.
• Liaise with clients and provide proactive advice and exceptional service.
• Ensure compliance with ATO lodgement deadlines and legislative requirements.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and use Xero to deliver client outcomes.
