Job summary

Teams Squared seeks a detail-oriented Paralegal to support lawyers in the Australian legal system. The role focuses on commercial litigation and criminal law, working remotely to manage case documentation, legal research, and litigation processes.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Certificate in Legal Studies (Law degrees welcome) with at least 3 years’ experience in Australia, proficient in SmokeBall/LEAP, and capable of independent remote work and precise drafting.

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies; Law degrees are highly regarded.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal supporting litigation or criminal law practitioners in Australia.
Strong knowledge of Australian court systems, litigation procedures, and legal terminology.
Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation management systems (e.g., SmokeBall, LEAP).

Responsibilities

Assist lawyers with litigation and criminal defence case prep, including drafting documents.
Conduct detailed legal research on commercial disputes and criminal matters.
Prepare and review pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, briefs, and court forms.
Maintain and manage case files, deadlines, and legal databases for ongoing proceedings.
Liaise with clients, barristers, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
Support trial prep with bundles, timelines, and evidence review.
Ensure compliance with Australian court procedures and filing requirements.
