Job summary

The University of Adelaide invites expressions of interest for casual teaching academics to join Adelaide University Online (AUO). This fully remote role supports online teaching across multiple disciplines and is conducted primarily outside standard Monday to Friday hours.

Applicants should be prepared for sessional teaching contracts and apply via the online portal. Essential qualifications include a minimum Bachelor’s degree, with Masters or PhD preferred for some courses.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional/industry work experience.
Minimum Masters or PhD (6-week courses).
Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties in an online environment.
Ability to actively engage and educate a diverse student group.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use the necessary digital techniques and tools required for effective online teaching.
Available to work outside of normal working hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

Undertake online teaching as part of the AUO teaching team.
Apply disciplinary expertise to consult, facilitate discussions, mark assessment items, and provide feedback to students.
Implement approaches that maximise the student experience and learning outcomes.
Provide academic support, mentoring and advice to students.
Act as the first point of response/contact in managing student issues or complaints.
