The University of Queensland’s Institute of Modern Languages is seeking expressions of interest from casual academics to be engaged on a casual basis. Casual Academics make a rich and important contribution to the Institutes’ language teaching and community engagement endeavours through the provision of a range of academically focused services and activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree or equivalent in teaching, education, TESOL, languages or linguistics, or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Native speaker or native‑like proficiency in the target language.
• Ability to develop programs for specific language learning purposes.
• Ability to evaluate and assess student progress.
• Knowledge of current practices in language teaching methodology.
• General or Language teaching experience.
