Job summary

Icon Cancer Centre's Health Information Services team seeks an experienced Clinical Coder to accurately code patient admissions and maintain the quality and integrity of health information in a remote Australia setting.

You will review records, apply ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition, perform AR-DRG grouping, and support quality improvements while collaborating with clinicians and the team.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in Clinical Coding
• 3+ years of clinical coding experience
• Experience with ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition
• Strong understanding of AR-DRGs and medical terminology
• Excellent accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Experience using healthcare information systems

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and identify diagnoses, procedures and treatments
• Code with ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition
• Undertake AR-DRG grouping activities
• Complete Cancer Registry notifications
• Clarify incomplete or inconsistent clinical documentation
• Support coding quality reviews and process improvements
• Collaborate with clinicians and Health Information Services colleagues
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
