Job summary

Community Enterprise Queensland is seeking a Future Leader - Nutrition in Cairns to grow practical nutrition skills while supporting remote communities. You will work with CEQ nutritionists to promote health, develop culturally appropriate resources, and travel to communities to implement nutrition strategies.

You will mentor, coordinate with ALPA and partner organisations, and contribute to healthy retailing outcomes across CEQ’s remote stores, while pursuing professional development toward

Qualifications

• Interest in nutrition, health and wellbeing and working with First Nations communities.
• Desire to work in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Sound organisational skills and reliability.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking interest.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of the Good Food People Program.
• Provide mentoring and support to the Good Food People via phone and Teams.
• Travel to remote communities with CEQ Store Nutritionists to operationalise health strategies.
• Support partnerships with community agencies and local health organisations.
• Develop resources and communications in a culturally appropriate way.
• Deliver in-store health promotion activities and cooking demonstrations.
• Assist in training on the CEQ nutrition policy and store knowledge of healthy foods.
• Monitor store environments for nutrition policy compliance.
