Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist in Australia to manage the full procurement lifecycle for IT products, software, cloud services, and vendors in a global technology-driven organization.

You will negotiate contracts, analyze budgets and forecasts, support FinOps initiatives for cloud cost optimization, and maintain asset inventories while collaborating with finance, IT, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and managing OPEX and CAPEX expenditures.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud cost management, and optimization strategies across cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in Excel/Sheets with advanced formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for IT products, software subscriptions, cloud services, and technology-related vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, service-level commitments, and terms to maximise value and reduce costs.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while monitoring supplier performance and compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable processes related to IT procurement, ensuring accurate invoice validation and payment workflows.
• Conduct financial analysis, including budget planning, forecasting, cost tracking, and plan-versus-actual reviews.
• Support FinOps initiatives by monitoring cloud spending and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage IT asset inventories, track hardware and software lifecycles, and ensure accurate asset records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with operational and business requirements.
• Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and compliance records.
