Job summary

7Learnings is seeking an autonomous Freelance Data Scientist based in Sydney to work roughly 10 hours per week. You will own the intersection of predictive decision-making and engineering for our local operations, ensuring AI-driven engines are mathematically sound and high-performing.

You will collaborate with our Berlin engineering team to translate retail challenges into scalable software, maintain low technical debt, and maximize model accuracy while delivering value to regional clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
• Min. 3 year experience as DS and independent work with customers.
• Results-oriented, pragmatic mindset.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning and data science.
• Experience with Git, TensorFlow, Google Cloud Platform, SQL, or BigQuery.
• Strong PM skills with interest in e-commerce and the fashion industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• English: Professional working proficiency (C1).
• You are located in Sydney.

Responsibilities

• Leverage analytical skills to support retail optimization projects.
• Experiment with Machine Learning models to forecast sales volume and costs.
• Interface with retailers to continuously improve the 7Learnings software.
• Collaborate closely with our engineering team.
• Optimize our data pipelines and predictive model codebases.
• Support the monitoring, measurement, and exploration of large-scale datasets.
