Job summary

Court Services Victoria, part of the Courts Group, seeks a Family Violence Remote Hearing Practitioner to support survivors and participants in court, in person or remotely. You will provide trauma-informed support, risk assessment and referrals within a collaborative team to help clients safely participate in hearings.

Travel to remote hearing locations and across Latrobe, Bairnsdale and Melbourne is required, with flexibility to work across multiple court locations.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, social sciences, or related discipline desirable.
• Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008, MARAM, FVISS, CISS, and Victoria Police Code of Practice desirable.
• Knowledge of court processes and intervention order applications desirable.
• Experience supporting individuals affected by family violence, trauma or complex needs valued.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, risk assessment and communication skills with client-centred practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support to help affected family members participate in court proceedings, in person or remotely.
• Conduct risk assessment, safety planning and make referrals to victim survivors of family violence.
• Support clients throughout their court journey before, during and after hearings.
• Coordinate with Victoria Police, legal services, courts and community organisations to support clients.
• Develop referral pathways and stakeholder relationships across family violence and justice sectors.
