Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced English Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. This role focuses on evaluating LLM performance in English-language tasks and curating high-quality English linguistic data.

You will edit, annotate, and refine English content, identify model gaps, and provide detailed linguistic feedback to guide model training. Fully remote with flexible hours and independent work.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in English with strong grammar, syntax and vocabulary.
• Experience in editing, proofreading, or linguistic annotation in English.
• Understanding of linguistic nuances, tone, and context-appropriate usage.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate quality and accuracy of LLM-generated English text across use cases.
• Edit or rewrite English content to high linguistic and stylistic standards.
• Annotate English text for grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features.
• Identify model errors and gaps; provide feedback to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback to guide model training efforts.
