Job summary

Quantium in Australia is seeking a Data Scientist to deepen our AI-native analytics capabilities. You will build on your Python and SQL foundations while applying data science methods to real business problems at scale.

You’ll work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), contribute to agentic workflows, and collaborate across geographies with analysts and product teams—rewarding curiosity, problem solving and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in data science, AI/ML development, or technical consulting.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills for data analysis.
• Solid data science fundamentals: data preparation, modelling, and validation.
• Experience with version control and documentation practices.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) or eagerness to learn.
• Understanding ML/AI basics including transformer architectures and when to apply approaches.

Responsibilities

• Apply Data Science methodology including feature engineering, model development, and testing.
• Build AI-native analytical solutions moving to agentic workflows.
• Evaluate AI outputs and know when to trust, refine, or override AI.
• Collaborate across the data lifecycle using cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Design scalable, reusable analytical approaches for multiple business problems.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and product specialists across geographies.
• Support delivery and continuous improvement of processes and timelines.
