Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is seeking a committed Feeding Hand for the Early Weaning Program at Newcastle Waters, NT. The role involves daily cattle feeding, observation of cattle, and adherence to animal welfare and safety standards on a remote station environment.

Training will be provided for machinery, feed logistics and safety practices. A manual driver’s licence is required, with accommodation provided and seven weeks annual leave each year of work.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in working and living on a remote cattle station.
• Willingness to work with young cattle and promote animal welfare.
• Experience with tractors and loading commodities is desirable.
• Ability to understand and implement instructions for feed rations.
• Current and valid manual driver’s licence.

Responsabilités

• Daily feeding of all cattle in the Early Weaning Program (EWP).
• Promote and manage best practice animal welfare and low-stress livestock handling techniques.
• Observe cattle while feeding and share observations with EWP Supervisor.
• Operate machinery and perform prestart checks on vehicles.
• Operate tractor to load commodities into feed truck for feeding rations.
• Feed Truck operation; training will be provided.
• Cattle operations including drafting, processing and trucking.
• Assist with horse riding and two-wheel motorbike riding as needed.
• Participate in Safety Toolbox Talks and Prestart Meetings.
• Fence maintenance and general repairs; check watering points and pipelines.
• General observation of cattle while feeding.
