Job summary

Hunt St is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage day-to-day finance in Xero for an Australian distributor serving the US and China suppliers.

This remote contractor role aligns with AU business hours and requires meticulous reconciliation, timely invoicing, and payroll tasks. You’ll work directly with the client and maintain SOPs as the business scales.

Candidates from the Philippines are welcome; the role offers AUD 1,500–2,000 monthly with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years bookkeeping experience with strong fundamentals in reconciliation, coding, accounts payable and reporting.
• Confident, day-to-day working knowledge of Xero, including Xero Bills.
• Weekly payroll experience and ability to manage payroll and superannuation.
• Experience working with international suppliers and foreign currency transactions.
• Ability to complete a clean daily reconciliation efficiently and consistently.
• Proactive in following up outstanding tasks and issues.
• Clear written English and confident email communication with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts daily and identify overnight and prepaid customer payments.
• Notify warehouse when payments are confirmed so orders can be dispatched.
• Process supplier invoices in Xero, including bills due immediately and those scheduled by due date.
• Monitor outstanding and overdue invoices.
• Reconcile merchant facilities and EFT payments across the accounts.
• Handle international supplier payments (US and China).
• Manage weekly payroll administration and superannuation requirements.
• Verify every invoice belongs to the business and matches supplier and amount.
• Follow up outstanding credits and statement discrepancies with suppliers by email.
• Monitor the accounts inbox and action items as they arrive.
• Prepare weekly payroll and superannuation.
• Document and maintain SOPs for the finance workflow as the business scales.
