Job summary

Socially Empowered VA is looking for an experienced, Australia-based freelance bookkeeper to support small Australian businesses on an ongoing contract, averaging 20–30 hours per month. This part-time role has sporadic but recurring scopes and requires clear communication and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper for Australian businesses.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
• Availability for 7–10 hours/week with flexibility for urgent requests.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain the Chart of Accounts.
• Manage accounts payable.
• Produce monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Process wages and payroll via Wise.
• Ensure records align with Australian accounting standards and compliance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Organise and maintain financial documents using Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs.
