Zusammenfassung

Red Lily Health Service, an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation, seeks an RN with post-basic qualifications for Jabiru’s Health Centre. You will provide comprehensive primary health care within a multidisciplinary team and support care coordination across remote community programs.

You’ll participate in 24/7 on-call duties, contribute to acute care, and help deliver culturally safe care while advancing health equity for local families in Kakadu National Park region.

Qualifikationen

• Eligible for AHPRA registration as a general Registered Nurse with a relevant post-basic qualification.
• Extensive experience in Remote Area Nursing within Australian Indigenous communities.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, written/verbal, and IT communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Provide comprehensive Primary Health Care within a multidisciplinary team framework
• Deliver care coordination, case management, recall systems, and priority health programs with the local health centre team
• Support evidence-based clinical care and Medicare-related activities, ensuring eligible clients access relevant MBS items and health incentive programs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, and health information systems
• Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners as key providers of culturally appropriate care
• Support orientation of new staff, students, and visiting clinicians, including infection prevention and cold chain management standards
• Participate in the 24-hour on-call roster and contribute to acute and emergency care

About Jabiru And West Arnhem

Based in the heart of Kakadu National Park, approximately 250 km (around a three-hour drive) from Darwin, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team at Red Lily’s modern, purpose-built Jabiru Health Centre. Jabiru is one of four Red Lily health centres across West Arnhem, alongside Gunbalanya (Oenpelli), Minjilang on Croker Island and Warruwi on South Goulburn Island. Together, our services work with communities with strong cultures, diverse languages and deep connections to Country.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive Primary Health Care within a multidisciplinary team framework

What We're Looking For

• Eligible for AHPRA registration as a general Registered Nurse, with a relevant post-basic qualification
• Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in Remote Area Nursing, with understanding of all roles within a multidisciplinary primary health care team model in Australian Indigenous communities
• Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health, cultural safety, and the social determinants of health
• Knowledge and experience implementing Primary Health Care programs and relevant legislation governing remote practice
• Highly developed interpersonal, complex problem-solving, written, verbal, and IT communication skills
• Current full Australian driver's licence and full rights to work in Australia

Desirable

• Tertiary and/or post-basic qualifications in Midwifery, Child Health, Emergency Care, Mental Health, or Primary Health Care
• Prior experience in Remote Area Nursing

• Committed to culturally safe, person-centred care and health literacy
• Able to work autonomously with sound clinical judgement in a remote setting
• Willing to participate in the 24-hour on-call roster and travel to remote communities by air and road
• Committed to quality improvement, education, and ongoing professional development
