Job summary

YMCA of Northern Territory Community Services is seeking an Aquatic Coordinator/Duty Manager to support Borroloola Pool under the Remote Pools Project. The role is full-time with an early November 2026 start, operating year-round as a vital community facility.

You will oversee safe pool operations, lead staff, supervise lifeguards, and deliver aquatic programs while engaging with community partners and stakeholders. Accommodation and remote living allowances apply.

Qualifications

• Current Pool Lifeguard qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Current driver's license.
• Experience within the aquatic, recreation, sport or community services sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability and willingness to live and work in a remote First Nations community.
• Willingness to learn about and understand the local community, culture and issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Ability to build respectful and effective relationships in a cross-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Safe Pool Operations: Support day-to-day operation of Borroloola Pool with a welcoming environment.
• Team Leadership: Lead local staff, lifeguards and team members for safe aquatic experiences.
• Aquatic Safety: Provide lifeguard supervision and uphold water safety, emergency response and risk management.
• Program Delivery: Support aquatic, recreational, water safety and community programs.
• Community Engagement: Build relationships with community members and stakeholders for partnerships and events.
• Pool Plant Operations: Monitor water quality and support pool plant operations.
• Staff Administration: Assist rostering, timesheets, training and onboarding.
• Facility Presentation: Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming facility.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Adhere to Y NT procedures and standards.
• Site Management: Support planning, budgeting, staffing and site performance.
