Job summary

Mineral Resources is seeking a proactive Reliability Engineer to maximise the performance, availability and lifecycle value of our assets. Based in Osborne Park, this role is Monday–Friday with occasional site visits to support safe, cost-effective production outcomes.

You will work with Asset Management, Operations and OEMs to lead reliability initiatives, analyse data, develop maintenance plans and deliver practical engineering solutions that reduce downtime and improve equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Around five years’ experience in mining or heavy-industry environments.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills with fault diagnosis.
• Clear communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive reliability, maintainability and lifecycle performance of mobile equipment and facilities.
• Lead asset performance analysis, including OEE, remaining useful life and cost performance.
• Develop and improve Asset Maintenance Plans (preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance).
• Analyse CMMS history and operational data to diagnose recurring failures and propose solutions.
• Provide reliability support to Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Ensure asset master data integrity and proper maintenance scheduling.

The role

Mineral Resources is seeking a proactive and technically capable Reliability Engineer to help maximise the performance, availability and lifecycle value of our operational assets.

Working closely with Asset Management, Operations, Maintenance, Strategy teams and OEMs, you will lead reliability initiatives that reduce downtime, improve equipment performance and support safe, cost-effective production outcomes.

This role is Osborne Park based, working on a Monday – Friday basis; however, site visits may be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the reliability, maintainability and lifecycle performance of MRL’s mobile equipment, processes and facilities.
• Lead asset performance analysis and reporting, including utilisation, effectiveness, operating condition, remaining useful life, fatigue and cost performance.
• Develop and continuously improve Asset Maintenance Plans, including preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies in line with OEM requirements and the Asset Management Framework.
• Analyse CMMS history, telemetry, oil/fluid analysis and other operational data to identify trends, diagnose recurring failures and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Provide technical reliability support and advice to Operations, Maintenance and technical teams.
• Ensure accurate asset master data, CMMS utilisation and maintenance-task scheduling to support effective reporting, planning and compliance.
• Contribute to Asset Management budgeting, forecasting, purchasing requisitions and resource planning.
• Partner with OEMs, engineers and operational stakeholders to resolve asset issues, support acquisitions and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Apply the Life Cycle Asset Management process and contribute to risk assessments, risk management plans and change-management activities.
• Champion safe, reliable and fit-for-purpose equipment outcomes that maximise availability, minimise downtime and support production objectives.
• Lead and support team members in delivering high-quality reliability analysis, reporting and improvement initiatives

What You’ll Bring

• Mechanical Engineering degree or a relevant mechanical, electrical or industrial trade qualification.
• Around five years’ experience in mining, mobile equipment or a similar heavy-industry environment.
• Strong understanding of fleet performance, asset readiness and maintenance priorities.
• Familiarity with fleet KPIs, hydrocarbon management, quality assurance and testing requirements.
• Practical skills in data analysis, reporting, risk assessment and solving equipment issues.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to lead, collaborate and build strong relationships with operational teams.
