Job description

Make a Meaningful Difference. Build a Career That Matters.

At APM WorkCare, we believe that when people are supported through life's challenges, they can achieve incredible things. As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you'll play an important role in helping people experiencing injury, illness, mental health, psychosocial, and other health-related challenges build confidence, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful goals. Your work will empower individuals to return to work, regain independence, and create positive, lasting outcomes.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility that genuinely works for you – Manage your own diary, work flexibly with hybrid arrangements, and focus on achieving outcomes rather than clock-watching. Heading interstate for a holiday or extended stay? You can work from any APM office across Australia, giving you the freedom to balance work and life in a way that suits you.

  • Be rewarded for the difference you make – Alongside a competitive salary, you'll have access to quarterly performance incentives

  • Salary Range - $80,000 - $100,000 AUD

  • Invest in your growth from day one – Your development doesn't stop after onboarding. You'll receive structured clinical mentoring and support, participate in monthly Lunch & Learn sessions with experienced practitioners, gain access to clinical journal resources, and attend external professional development opportunities through our ARPA memberships. Across the broader APM Group, you'll also have access to leadership, wellbeing, and personal development programs, including workshops delivered by renowned speakers such as Hugh van Cuylenburg. Whether your goal is to become a clinical specialist, team leader, or manager, we'll help you get there.

  • Build a career, not just a job – We believe great talent should have room to grow. Take advantage of leadership development programs, acting opportunities, interstate secondments, and relocation options across our national network. You'll also have access to APM's dedicated Mobility Consultant, who can help you explore career opportunities across APM's businesses throughout Australia. Best of all, more than 90% of APM WorkCare leadership positions have been filled internally, so career progression isn't just possible, it's proven.

  • Benefits that support your wellbeing – Enjoy access to Fitness Passport, with potential savings of $500-$1,500+ each year, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), discounted private health insurance, novated leasing, salary packaging options, and hundreds of discounts across retail, travel, dining, and entertainment.

  • More time for the things that matter – Need extra time to travel, spend with family, or simply recharge? You can purchase up to two additional weeks of annual leave through pre-tax salary deductions, giving you greater flexibility to create the work-life balance that works for you.

What You'll Be Doing

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Conduct assessments, identify rehabilitation goals, and develop tailored rehabilitation and return-to-work plans that support sustainable outcomes.

  • Deliver rehabilitation services including workplace assessments, ergonomic assessments, job task analysis, activities of daily living assessments (OT), vocational support, and development of return-to-work plans.

  • Collaborate with employers, insurers, treating health professionals, and community stakeholders, including participating in case conferences to facilitate recovery and successful return-to-work outcomes.

  • Facilitate workshops and wellbeing programs, build referral relationships, and contribute to positive client outcomes and business growth.

  • Manage a diverse caseload with access to leading clinical transcription technology and innovative rehabilitation services including our award-winning Virtual Reality pain program and psychosocial screening tool APMiQ.

About You

You're someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, solving problems, and helping people achieve their goals. You'll bring empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting others to overcome challenges and succeed.

You’ll also have:

  • Qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Rehabilitation Counselling, or Psychology with relevant registrations AHPRA/ESSA/ASORC.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build genuine connections with a diverse range of people.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Experience in occupational rehabilitation, injury management, workplace health, mental health, employment services, or a related field (highly regarded).

  • Confidence working collaboratively with employers, healthcare professionals, and community partners.

  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally across Brisbane.

  • A valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one), National Criminal History Check, and full Australian working rights.

New to Occupational Rehabilitation?

We welcome clinicians looking to transition into occupational rehabilitation. Whether you're coming from private practice, hospital, community health, mental health, or another allied health setting, you'll receive structured onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing support to help you build confidence and succeed in your new career.
