Job summary

Department of Government Services – Melbourne VIC seeks Inspectors to conduct compliance monitoring and residential tenancy inspections under Australian Consumer Law and related Acts. You will draft reports, collect evidence, and deliver education sessions to communities across Victoria.

The role requires strong communication, ability to engage with councils and businesses, and willingness to travel across the state.

Qualifications

• Experience in inspection operations including planning and delivery of outreach activities.
• Experience preparing reports and drafting clear correspondence.
• Ability to develop productive relations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to learn required policies.
• Desirable: Certificate IV in Government Investigations or plan to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing compliance programs and inspections.
• Potential to be appointed as an Inspector under relevant Acts.
• Carry out routine and complex inspections and prepare reports.
• Deliver business and consumer education sessions.
• Provide front-line dispute resolution and escalate as needed.
• Maintain relationships with regional stakeholders and local councils.
• Perform other duties including travel across the state.
