Job summary

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle invites applications for a Registered Psychologist to join the Counselling and Clinical Services Team in Mayfield. The role offers permanent full-time or part-time options with flexible arrangements and a focus on quality care and positive outcomes.

Applicants must be fully registered with AHPRA (Clinical endorsement) and eligible for Medicare provider numbers, with experience in mental health counselling across the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mental health/counselling setting; eligibility to obtain a Medicare provider number.
• Ability to provide individual, family or relationship counselling across the lifespan.
• Experience in short and long-term counselling using various therapeutic modalities.
• Experience in or willingness to provide psychometric and other assessments (autism, cognitive, developmental).
• Experience in and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and psychological assessments.
• Work across referral networks at the Mayfield office delivering clinical services.
• Contribute to counselling services and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
• Deliver crisis counselling and preventative educational programs to individuals, couples and families.
