Job description

Registered psychologist subcontractor opportunity | Melbourne and suitable Australia-based telehealth | Start date TBA

We're looking for psychologists who enjoy getting to know their clients, thinking carefully about their work and helping people make practical progress. If you've built experience in therapy, assessment or both, we'd like to hear from you.

At Meyer Institute, we work with children, adolescents and adults through psychological therapy, assessments and reports. We'd like to understand the work you enjoy, the skills you bring and the clients you feel best equipped to support. Your role can focus on the services that suit your experience and interests.

What your work could include
  • Provide therapy using approaches suited to your training, the client and their goals.
  • Complete psychological assessments, feedback sessions and reports where you have the relevant training and experience.
  • Build clear treatment plans and review progress with clients.
  • Keep accurate clinical records and communicate clearly with referrers and other professionals, with appropriate consent.
  • Manage agreed appointments and report deadlines, and raise clinical concerns promptly.
What we would like you to bring
  • Current general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Relevant clinical experience, sound judgement and a clear understanding of your professional scope.
  • A warm, respectful approach with clients and reliable communication with colleagues.
  • Strong written skills and care with clinical documentation.
  • A private workspace and suitable technology for telehealth work.
  • Experience with assessments, NDIS participants or work-related psychological injury is welcome where it fits your practice. An area of practice endorsement is welcome; we also encourage applications from generally registered psychologists with relevant experience.
A working arrangement we can discuss
  • Australia-based telehealth opportunities.
  • In-person or hybrid work in Melbourne, depending on your location and available rooms.
  • Separate subcontractor opportunity for generally registered psychologists. Availability, scope, remuneration structure and written contracting terms are discussed individually before engagement. Casual employee opportunities are described separately on the careers page.

Melbourne consulting-room opportunities: Vermont and Endeavour Hills, subject to room and role availability. Suitable Australia-based telehealth as described above. Applications close 30 November 2026. Start date TBA.
