Job summary

Meyer Institute in Melbourne is seeking expressions of interest for provisional psychologists to gain supervised clinical experience in a paid role. The position supports children, adolescents and adults with therapy, assessments and reports.

Qualifications

• Provisional registration, or clear explanation of eligibility and expected registration date.
• Qualifications and training pathway relevant to the role.
• Good written communication, organisation and a reliable approach to agreed tasks.
• Openness to feedback and an understanding of when to seek supervision.
• Private workspace and suitable technology if telehealth is part of your agreed role.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervised psychological support within your agreed scope and level of competence.
• Assist with assessment interviews, administration, scoring and reports where training and supervision support the work.
• Prepare for supervision, bring clinical questions and follow through on agreed learning tasks.
• Maintain clear records and complete clinical administration carefully.
• Communicate respectfully with clients and colleagues, and seek help early when you need it.
• Clinical responsibility will develop as you demonstrate the relevant skills and meet your pathway requirements.

• The supervisor, supervision schedule and any required program or Board approvals.
• Your learning objectives, duties and limits of responsibility.
• Hours, remuneration, supervision costs and each party’s responsibilities.

Melbourne in-person and hybrid opportunities will depend on supervision and room availability. Australia-based telehealth may be considered where it suits your pathway, supervision and client work. These enquiries are for paid work, with the final arrangement agreed individually.
