Job summary

Cura Day Hospitals Group, the market-leading day hospital network, invites applications for a casual Registered Nurse in Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetics at MetWest Surgical in NSW. You will provide safe perioperative care for ophthalmic procedures, including scrub/scout duties, admission, recovery and discharge with IV sedation.

We seek a RN (Division 1) with AHPRA registration and at least 2 years perioperative experience; ophthalmology experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA registration.
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• Experience in scrub/scout and anaesthetics preferred.
• Right to work permanently in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures.

MetWest Surgical is licensed by the NSW Department of Health and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS). We have 1 operating theatre utilising the latest state-of-the-art equipment together with a 1 bed first-stage recovery unit and a 1-recliner chair second-stage recovery unit.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Perioperative Registered Nurses experience in Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetics to join our dedicated team at MetWest Surgical on a casual basis.

Reporting to the CEO, you will play a key role in providing safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in the scrub/scout and anaesthetics, admission, recovery, and discharge of patients undergoing IV sedation.
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality nursing care in a day surgery environment, performing scrub/scout RN duties as required.
• Keen attention to detail, with the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues to support patient care.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in rostering to meet facility requirements.
• Active participation in Quality Improvement activities.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia registration with AHPRA.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Perioperative nursing, demonstrating exceptional clinical skills.
• Previous ophthalmology experience is desirable but not essential.
