About the Role

Albury Wodonga Health requires Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team on Surgical Ward 1. Surgical Ward 1 is a 23-bed unit, specialising in the pre and post operative care of elective (orthopaedic, plastics, general surgical) and emergency surgery/ trauma patients. Primary responsibilities include general nursing duties, pre and post operative monitoring and observation, IV & CVAD management, comprehensive patient assessment, escalation of deterioration, complex wound management and multidisciplinary care planning. We are a great team and would love the opportunity to work with you.

Surgical Ward 1 is actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity:

Australian Citizen, Permanent resident or has working rights in Australia.

  • Current Nursing and/or Midwifery Registration with APHRA (Australian Health Practitioners Agency).
  • Demonstrates a person and family centred approach to decision making and care planning activities.
  • Ability to work as a team member within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and the ability to practice within a quality and risk management framework.
  • Is able to describe and demonstrate the utilisation of evidence based practice into own practice.
  • Understanding of WHS legislation as it relates to employees’ responsibilities.
  • An ability to describe clinical governance as it pertains to nursing / midwifery.
  • The ability to utilise electronic information systems / software used across healthcare settings.

Employment Type: Permanent full-time position.
