Job summary

Women’s and Children’s Health Network in Adelaide seeks a Registered Nurse for the Paediatric Outpatient Department. You will deliver nursing care, coordinate services and support children with diverse needs within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Temporary (fixed-term) contracts for up to 12 months, part-time hours, with inclusive benefits and salary packaging options. Applicants should be eligible for RN registration in Australia.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Current practising certificate eligibility is required.
• Knowledge of paediatric outpatients is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and coordinate care for paediatric outpatients.
• Recognise clinical deterioration and escalate appropriately.
• Regularly communicate care plan changes to staff.
• Provide health promotion and education to patients and families.
• Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines to meet health care needs.

About the role

Make a difference in the lives of children and their families as a Registered Nurse within our Paediatric Outpatient Department. Deliver nursing care, coordinate services, and support children with a wide range of needs while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team!

Key duties of the role

• Assess, plan, implement and coordinate care and appropriate service delivery options.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalat e appropriately.
• Regularly communicate changes in care planning to appropriate staff.
• Provide health promotion and education to patients and their families to improve health outcomes.
• Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines to meet individual health care needs.

Skills and Experience

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse within a healthcare setting
• Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
