Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ophthalmology Ambulatory Care Centre. The role is permanent full-time with a 38-hour week and a Monday–Friday roster, no night shifts, enabling balanced work‑life integration.

You will screen and assess patients in a fast-paced Ophthalmology Clinic, collaborating with ophthalmologists, orthoptists and nurses to deliver safe, high‑quality care in a state‑of‑the‑art setting.

The Ambulatory Care Centre is a dynamic and vibrant facility, housing over 40 outpatient specialty clinics that serve both outpatients and a limited number of inpatients. Our ophthalmology clinic sees an average of 50 patients daily, providing specialist consultations, minor procedures, and post-operative care in a state-of-the-art environment.

Our multidisciplinary team includes medical consultants, allied health professionals, specialist nurses, and dedicated support staff, all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality care.

You’ll be responsible for screening and assessing patients in the Ophthalmology Clinic, working closely with a team of ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and nurses to deliver safe and effective care.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Experience in the field of ophthalmology with well‑refined ophthalmology assessment skills and up‑to‑date clinical knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment within a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team environment.
