Job summary

GenesisCare in Cairns, Queensland is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary radiation oncology team. We welcome both full-time and part-time applicants and will tailor arrangements to fit individual lifestyle needs.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Oncology experience highly regarded but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving and care coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care, including patient assessments, care planning, clinical observations and medication administration according to policies and procedures.
• Provide education, emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families throughout treatment journey.
• Work collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with infection prevention, clinical safety and quality standards.
• Support and mentor junior nursing colleagues and students, sharing knowledge and experience.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practice to enhance patient care and outcomes.
