We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic 30-bed Oncology and Medical Ward at St John of God Ballarat Hospital on a permanent full-time or part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team providing high-quality, patient-centred care to patients with a range of oncology and medical conditions. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills across clinical assessment, care planning, symptom management, medication administration and the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care.
We are particularly interested in Registered Nurses with oncology nursing experience, as well as those with a strong acute nursing background who have an interest in developing their skills and knowledge in oncology. Training and development opportunities are available to support you in building your oncology nursing capability.
As an inpatient ward, this role provides the opportunity to care for patients across the full spectrum of their hospital journey, including admission, treatment, symptom management, recovery and discharge planning. The role involves working across a 24-hour roster, including night duty.
If you are a dynamic and flexible Registered Nurse with strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and a passion for providing high-quality care to patients with complex healthcare needs, we want to hear from you.
Well-developed clinical assessment, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide safe, compassionate and patient-centred care in an acute oncology and medical environment. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills, together with a commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence and supporting patients with complex healthcare needs.
You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with recent clinical experience in an acute healthcare environment.
Particularly experience caring for patients with complex cancer diagnoses and treatment-related needs. We also welcome Registered Nurses with strong acute medical or surgical experience who have an interest in developing their career in oncology nursing and are willing to undertake relevant skills training.
Availability to work across a 24-hour roster, including night duty, is required.
