Job summary

Calvary Home Care in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver high-acuity care across short-term and long-term programs. You will work independently and with a team, providing complex care, IV/medication administration and education to clients and families.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Nursing registration and nursing qualification.
• Minimum 1 year acute care experience.
• NDIS and Police clearances (or willingness to obtain).
• Access to own car with KM allowance and full, comprehensive insurance.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV, IM, SC and PO medications accurately.
• IV cannulation, PICC line and Infusaport care.
• Wound care including compression and NPWT.
• Drain care and catheter care education.
• Deliver patient education to clients and families.
• Document promptly in client records.
• Communicate within the clinical team to coordinate care.
• Complete initial assessments and care plans.
• Monitor and update plans for best outcomes.

About The Role

As a member of the Calvary Home Care team and as an experienced RN, you will provide care to high acuity clients from various short term/long terms programs. You will provide complex care to all clients by working both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

• Administration of IV, IM, SC and PO medications
• IV Cannulation, PICC line and Infusaport care
• Simple and Complex wound care including compression and NPWT
• Drain care
• Male, Female and Supra Pubic Catheter Care and Education
• Accurate/Timely documentation in all client records.
• Appropriate communication within the clinical team to ensure appropriate care is provided.
• Complete initial assessments/develop care plans to ensure best outcome for our clients.
• Monitor and update care plans to ensure appropriate care is provided
• Deliver education to client and families to enable best possible outcome.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration, with appropriate escalation.

What You Bring

• Current AHPRA Nursing
• Minimum 1 year acute experience
• NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
• Police Clearance within 6 months (or willingness to obtain one)
• Use of own car – KM allowance provided
• Full drivers licence, reliable and comprehensively insured car
• CPR and Manual handling competency
• Candidates with an understanding of the community nursing sector - Home Care Packages, Department of Veteran Affairs and Commonwealth Home Support Program will be considered favourably
