Vision Hospital Group, a leading network of ophthalmic day hospitals, seeks a casual Perioperative Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to support our day surgery team. Ophthalmic surgical nursing experience is highly desirable and essential perioperative duties include scrub/scout, admissions, anesthetics and recovery.

You will work with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff to ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and efficient case flow, while upholding infection control

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
• Perioperative setting experience is essential; ophthalmic surgical nursing experience highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care with a focus on patient safety and surgical excellence.

The opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Perioperative Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our day surgery team. Ophthalmic surgical nursing experience is highly desirable.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and compassionate care to patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.

In this role, you will:

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care with a strong focus on patient safety and surgical excellence.
• Perform perioperative nursing duties, including as needed- scrub/scout, admissions, anesthetics and recovery.
• Liaise effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure seamless case flow.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
• Actively contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement of clinical practices.

About you

We’re looking for a nurse who is calm under pressure, clinically confident, and passionate about delivering exceptional surgical care.

You will also bring:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
• Previous experience in a perioperative setting is essential (ophthalmic surgical nursing experiencehighly desirable).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
• Commitment to infection control, WHS and quality improvement.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
