Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join Lithgow Hospital. You will assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, monitor progress, and ensure care aligns with best practice and organisational standards.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
  • Experience and clinical skill in nursing, including completion of a new graduate program or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to provide person-centred, family-inclusive and culturally sensitive care.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Commitment to professional development.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work day/evening/night shifts across a rotating roster.

In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, providing clinical expertise, emotional support, and person‑centred care to patients and their families. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, monitoring clinical progress, and ensuring that all care aligns with best practice and organisational standards.

What you will bring to the role
  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
  2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in nursing as a Registered Nurse including completion of a new graduate Registered Nurse program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
  5. Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

  8. Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
