Job summary

Dysart Health Service is located in the Isaac Regional Shire in Dysart, Queensland, with a 24-hour ED serving mining towns and a rural community. Salt Medics invites registered nurses with ED and rural experience to apply for multiple contract opportunities from 9 November to 17 January 2027.

Competitive base rates plus superannuation and penalties, travel and accommodation provided, and required credentials to work in Australia will be assessed as part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Must have recent Rural nursing and Emergency experience.
• Mandatory: Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)/Triage competency, Resuscitation, Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificates.
• Registered with AHPRA and hold working rights for Australia.
• Ability to team lead and manage a ward independently, including as the sole RN on shift.
• Desirable: prior experience in QLD Health and/or Mackay HHS.

• Provide high-level emergency nursing care in a rural setting.
• Collaborate with health teams to ensure patient safety and flow.

Dysart Health Service is located in the Isaac Regional Shire in the town of Dysart, approximately 250kms south-west from Mackay. A journey which takes approximately 2.5 hours. It is a 9-bed hospital servicing surrounding mining towns with a 24-hour emergency department and a steady flow of outpatients.
