Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Day Surgery Unit. The role offers permanent part-time 16 hours/week and 12-month maximum-term part-time contracts across a 339-bed facility located in Southport, with a broad range of specialties.

The successful candidate will have AHPRA RN registration, Day Surgery/perioperative experience or transferable skills, and strong team collaboration, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
• Experience in Day Surgery or perioperative settings is preferred or transferable skills can be developed with training.
• Excellent interpersonal and clinical problem-solving abilities; capable of working in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred nursing care in Day Surgery Ward.
• Collaborate with health professionals to ensure safe, efficient patient management.
• Support quality improvement and risk management within service provision.
• Work with the nursing team to deliver exceptional care at every shift.

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Registered Nurse to work within our Day Surgery Unit team. We have three vacancies available, 1 x permanent part time 16 hours per week and 2 x maximum term part time 24 hours per week 12 month contracts. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse, you will providepatient-centred nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals and significant others to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient management within the Day Surgery Ward.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

• Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
• Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
• Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
• Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
• Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

• Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
