An exciting opportunity is available for a Casual Registered Nurse to join the friendly and supportive team at Cessnock Community Health.
Part of Hunter New England Local Health District, Cessnock Community Health provides a range of community-based nursing services to individuals and families across the Cessnock region. Our team delivers patient-centred care both in the clinic and within people's homes, helping clients remain safe, independent and well within their community. Our services include simple and complex wound care, IV medication administration, catheter care and management, PICC and Port-a-Cath care, immunisation and ongoing health support.
Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, Cessnock Community Health supports a diverse rural and semi-rural community. You will work closely with GPs, allied health professionals and other service providers to deliver coordinated and holistic care.
You'll join a workplace where teamwork, open communication and mutual respect are genuinely valued. While the role provides the autonomy to work independently in the community, you'll be part of a connected team that encourages collaboration, shared decision-making and ongoing professional development.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care across both clinic and home settings.
As a casual position, shifts will vary according to service needs, providing flexibility while offering the opportunity to build valuable experience in community nursing.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is confident working independently, enjoys building relationships with clients and is passionate about delivering high-quality community-based care.
Immunisation Qualifications and Experience Are Desirable But Not Essential.
You won't be expected to navigate community nursing alone. You'll receive a structured orientation and ongoing clinical support to help you confidently transition into the role.
Your orientation will include supernumerary shifts, allowing you to become familiar with service processes, documentation systems and community workflows while working alongside experienced team members.
