Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide in-home clinical support to older people across Western Sydney, including Penrith and surrounding suburbs. You will work in a supportive, client-focused team delivering high-quality nursing care in the home.

You will perform wound care, medication administration, pain and health assessments, and develop holistic care plans to support wellness and independence while travelling within the service area.

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • 2+ years nursing experience in aged care, community care or disability.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Current driver's license with willingness to travel.
  • Experience delivering clinical care including wound management and medication administration.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care and contemporary aged care practices.
  • Ability to build genuine rapport and deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home clinical services including wound care, continence and catheter care, medication administration and stomach care for older people with complex needs.
  • Conduct clinical assessments including pain, cognitive and health monitoring to support care planning.
  • Deliver evidence-based care aligned with aged care standards and quality guidelines.
  • Develop and evaluate holistic care plans that support wellness and client goals.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and families to ensure coordinated care.
  • Promote service growth by building referral networks and communicating value to the community.
  • Travel to suburbs across the service area including Penrith, Blacktown, The Hills District, Parramatta, Liverpool and Campbelltown.

About the role

As our community-based Registered Nurse, you’ll support older people across Western Sydney to maintain their health, independence and quality of life while living safely at home.

You’ll deliver warm, person-centred clinical care, taking a proactive approach to assessment, intervention and ongoing client support. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll identify risks early, respond to changing clinical needs and deliver high-quality nursing care that promotes dignity, safety and wellbeing.

Duties
  • Provide a broad range of in-home clinical services including wound care, pressure care, continence and catheter care, medication administration and stomach care for older people with complex needs.
  • Conduct clinical assessments including pain, cognitive and ongoing health monitoring assessments to support client wellbeing and care planning.
  • Provide evidence-based clinical care aligned with the Aged Care Act 2024 and Quality Standards.
  • Develop and evaluate holistic care plans that support wellness, reablement, and individual client goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients, and families to ensure coordinated care.
  • Promote service growth by building referral networks and communicating our value to the community.
  • Travel to suburbs across the service area including: Penrith, Blacktown, The Hills District, Parramatta, Liverpool and Campbelltown.
Skills and Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential.
  • 2+ years nursing experience within aged care, community care and/or disability settings.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Current drivers licence with a willingness to travel.
  • Experience delivering clinical care including wound management, medication administration and clinical assessments.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care and contemporary aged care clinical practices.
  • Ability to build genuine rapport with clients and deliver compassionate, high-quality care.
  • Strong clinical judgement, time management and professional accountability.
