Job summary

All Care 4 you pty ltd is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our aged care team on a casual basis. The role is based in the South-East & West suburbs of VIC, offering flexible casual employment while delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents.

As part of the care team, you will assess residents, administer medications, create individual care plans, and work with GPs and families to ensure safe, optimal care that respects dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Undergraduate nursing degree or diploma.
• Experience in aged care or similar healthcare setting.
• Evidence-based care practices and dementia care knowledge are advantageous.
• Strong communication and ability to build rapport with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor health of aged care residents and respond to changes.
• Administer medications and treatments per prescriptions and protocols.
• Develop and implement individualised care plans with the care team.
• Provide direct physical care, wound/catheter care, and infection control.

Job description

All Care 4 you pty ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our aged care team on a casual basis. This role is based in South-East & West suburbs of VIC and offers the flexibility of casual employment whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our aged care residents, ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing remain our top priority. This position is essential to our mission of providing exceptional care services to our community's older adults.

Key responsibilities

• Assessing and monitoring the health status of aged care residents, identifying changes in condition and responding appropriately
• Administering medications and treatments according to prescribed medical regimens and aged care protocols
• Developing and implementing individualised care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Providing direct physical care including wound management, catheter care and infection control procedures
• Supporting residents' emotional and psychological wellbeing through compassionate communication and rapport building
• Documenting care activities accurately and maintaining comprehensive resident records in compliance with aged care standards
• Collaborating with general practitioners, allied health professionals and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for all residents
• Adhering to all aged care regulations, policies and professional standards of practice

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
• Qualification in nursing with a relevant undergraduate degree or diploma
• Demonstrated experience working in aged care or similar healthcare settings
• Strong knowledge of aged care principles, common conditions affecting older adults and evidence-based care practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families and staff
• A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care delivery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• A Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Flexibility to work across various shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required in a casual role
• Preferred experience: knowledge of dementia care, palliative care or chronic disease management in aged populations
