Overview

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality patient care?

Due to recent expansion, Knox Private Hospital has opportunities for Registered Nurses to join our busy Miller Cardiac unit on a permanent, full time or part time basis. RNs working in this unit benefit from a focus on CPD which includes ward-based educational in-services.

Knox Private Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in Victoria, caring for over 1.2 million people across Melbourne’s east and outer east.

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department, covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas, including highly complex surgeries. Backed by the latest technology and expertise, we offer 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more.

All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit. Our expert care team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and other professionals will ensure that your experience is the best it can be.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation
  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
  • Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies
  • Look after a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias)
  • Look after patients pre and post cath lab (coronary angiograms, PPM)
  • Prepare patients for CABGs/Valve surgeries
  • Current Registration with AHPRA with a minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a cardiac ward
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Salary and benefits
  • $35.33 - $47.25 per hour based on years of experience against the Healthscope Victoria - Nurses’ and Midwives’ Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025
