Job summary

Respect Maleny Erowal is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. The role focuses on safe, competent, resident-centered nursing care with opportunities for professional development in a not-for-profit setting.

The RN will compile histories, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality resident outcomes while upholding dignity and independence of residents.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA.
• Knowledge of Residential Classification Scale and Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Current National NDIS worker screening.
• Understanding of government standards for aged care.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Understanding of the aged care accreditation process.

Responsibilities

• Compile a comprehensive history from residents and family members to identify care needs through admissions and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation that reflects care delivery.
• Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate resident care plans, and assist with admission assessments.
• Provide direct clinical care to residents as required, including personal hygiene, pain management, massage therapy, and GP rounds participation.
• Administer medications and ensure correct ordering, storage, and documentation procedures are followed.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional resident outcomes.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, families, and colleagues.

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, competent, and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Reporting directly to the Care Manager and General Manager, the Registered Nurse plays an integral role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of residents.

• Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs through resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation that reflects care delivery.

• As a not-for-profit organisation, salary package up to $15,900 per year for living expenses, including rent, mortgage, bills, and groceries.
