St John of God Berwick Hospital in Melbourne’s south-east is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join the Day Surgery team on a permanent part-time basis, 30 hours per week. You will provide high-quality patient-centred care across pre-operative assessment, peri-operative nursing, and post-operative recovery.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe discharge planning, accurate clinical documentation and infection prevention.

You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills across pre-operative assessment, peri-operative nursing, clinical monitoring, post-operative recovery and discharge planning, while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.If you are a dynamic and flexible Registered Nurse with strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, we want to hear from you.**Make your next career move and join our dedicated Day Surgery team at St John of God Berwick Hospital.****Key Responsibilities*** Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients throughout their day surgery journey.* Complete comprehensive pre-operative assessments and contribute to individualised care planning.* Provide safe and effective pre-operative and post-operative care, including clinical observations, medication administration, pain and nausea management, wound care and clinical monitoring.* Monitor patients throughout their recovery and recognise and respond appropriately to any changes in clinical condition.* Support patients through their surgical experience, providing reassurance, education and compassionate care.* Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetic staff, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.* Provide patients and families with appropriate education regarding procedures, recovery, medications, wound care and discharge requirements.* Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning, ensuring patients are appropriately assessed and prepared for discharge following day surgery.* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and provide clear clinical handover.* Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, medication safety and clinical practice.* Contribute to a positive team culture and exceptional patient experience. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills, together with a commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence and delivering a positive patient experience.You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with recent clinical experience in an acute care, surgical or relevant healthcare environment.
