St John of God Ballarat Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Rehabilitation Ward on a permanent part-time or casual basis. Join a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient-centred recovery and safe discharge planning.

You will develop skills across assessment, care planning, medication management and discharge planning while delivering high-quality care to patients working towards recovery and home rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute, rehabilitation or relevant healthcare environment.
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgement and patient-centred care.

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care throughout rehabilitation.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop, implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Support patients to achieve rehabilitation goals and maximise independence.
  • Administer medications safely and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide clear clinical handover.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Rehabilitation Ward at St John of God Ballarat Hospital on a permanent part time or causal basis. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Support patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximise independence in daily activities and mobility.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition.
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Encourage and support patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation program and care planning.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment, recovery, medications and discharge requirements.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and provide clear, timely clinical handover.
  • Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control and clinical safety.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and exceptional patient experience.

To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed clinical assessment, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide safe, compassionate and patient-centred care in a rehabilitation environment. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills, together with a commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence and supporting patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with recent clinical experience in an acute, rehabilitation or relevant healthcare environment. Previous rehabilitation nursing experience will be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in Registered Nurses with strong clinical skills who are looking to develop their career within rehabilitation nursing.

The Benefits
  • Salary: $85,480 - $107,881 (pro date for part time), plus12% superannuation
  • Casual rate: $53.90 to $68.03 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus12% superannuation
  • Casual opportunities offering flexible work balance
  • As a casual employee, you can salary package a percentage of your earnings each pay period
