Job summary

Queensland Government in Mount Isa seeks a Youth Worker to supervise and support young people under a youth justice intervention, reporting to the Program Coordinator. Travel within the region and potential overnight stays are required. A Blue Card is mandatory, and a valid C-class driver’s licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted C-class driver's licence.
• Blue Card (working with children) is required prior to starting.
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background is highly desirable.
• Referees who can attest to cultural capabilities are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver components of core programs for young people subject to youth justice intervention.
• Provide supervision and support to young people in line with service plans.
• Consult with government and community agencies to access services for young people.
• Maintain case records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to learning and development and ensure safety at service delivery sites.
