A leading global technology company is seeking an EHS Manager in Melbourne to oversee safety operations, work with cross-functional teams, and implement safety standards. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in safety management, strong communication skills, and extensive knowledge of safety regulations. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the tools they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with teams across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing capability at a low cost to customers. This role is for an experienced EHS Manager, Safety Specialist, or Safety Engineer. The prime responsibility is to work as part of a team to support safety operations in Melbourne, Australia, with potential opportunities to support other states or countries.
The chosen person must be an effective communicator, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages verbally and in writing, and/or in public speaking forums. This individual will advise, instruct, and train company personnel on safety policies and procedures, and assist teams in incorporating safety standards at their sites.
You will work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance safety of operations. This includes coordination with onsite physical security, vendors, compliance officers, risk management, and fire/life safety systems. You will work with employees and contractors to achieve specific safety objectives and collaborate with construction builds.
This role reports to the Regional Safety Manager, Australia & New Zealand, and is responsible for continuing to enhance the safety of operations and construction. This position is based in Melbourne; some international travel may be required.
