Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking a Regional Safety Advisor to develop, implement and oversee safety strategy for the QLD/NT business areas, minimizing injuries and environmental impact. You will ensure regulatory compliance and promote a proactive safety culture across multiple units near Brisbane Airport.

The role requires a tertiary OH&S qualification, strong stakeholder engagement, and a proven track record in HSE, with excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, management and regulators.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience in an HSE position and a track record of delivering improvement.
• Ability to develop and implement safety strategies within a large operational business.
• Sound understanding of WHS legislation and Human Factors principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with staff, management and regulators at all levels.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to show initiative and flexibility.
• A positive, results focused disposition and do not shy away from challenges.

The Regional Safety Advisor will work within the regional safety advisory team in an advisory capacity to manage the development, implementation, and oversight of safety strategy for system, framework, policies and/or procedures for the Qantas Group QLD/NT business areas. The focus being to minimize or eliminate, where practicable, injuries to persons, damage to equipment, infrastructure or the environment. This is to be achieved by working with the business units to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture. This role is integral to improving the identification of, mitigation against, and resolution of relevant hazards.
