Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a Relief Head Chef (Regional Relief Chef) to support multiple care communities across regional Victoria. You will lead kitchens, ensure consistent, high-quality meals, and step into Head/Sous Chef duties during leave periods.

Qualifications

• Head Chef experience required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to maintain high dining standards and safety compliance.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals aligned with resident needs and preferences.
• Create meaningful dining experiences that support resident wellbeing.
• Lead kitchen and hospitality teams during leave coverage.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and WHS compliance across sites.
• Manage stock, ordering and kitchen budgets per procurement guidelines.
• Build connections with residents, families and staff.
• Assist with training, onboarding and coaching of kitchen staff.
• Contribute to seasonal menus and community catering events.
