Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a principal for Gisborne Secondary College to lead a large Year 7-12 community with a strong focus on pathways, wellbeing and performance in the Macedon Ranges.

The role requires strategic planning, strong governance, and the ability to work with the school council to drive improvements across teaching, learning and community partnerships. The principal will oversee resources and promote inclusive practices across the campus.

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Ability to lead and manage a school and staff.
• Skill in implementing improvement plans and policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of education for all students.
• Act as executive officer to the school council and provide educational advice to the council.
• Ensure decisions of the school council are implemented and supported by resources.
• Oversee the school’s financial, physical and human resources.
• Engage with students, parents, staff and the local community to promote wellbeing and high standards.
