Job summary

Nathalia Primary School, operated by the Department of Education Victoria, is seeking a full-time fixed-term Primary Classroom Teacher to start 27 January 2027. The role will involve leading one of nine generalist classrooms in a supportive regional school community.

The successful applicant will work within a team of experienced teachers, have access to planning time and ES allocations, and contribute to student wellbeing and learning outcomes across the year levels.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum including literacy/numeracy; respond to student learning needs.
• SC2 Experience planning/high-impact teaching strategies; evaluate learning growth.
• SC3 Experience monitoring/assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• SC4 Strong interpersonal/communication skills; build collaborative relationships.
• SC5 Reflective practice and ongoing professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas.
• Undertake other classroom teaching duties as directed by leadership.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Support and supervise student teachers where appropriate.
