Healthscope's Sydney Southwest Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for the Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic) on a full-time basis. You will provide operational leadership, ensure high-quality clinical care, manage budgets, and support the Director of Nursing as part of the management team.

You will oversee nursing care delivery, resource management, and staff development, while remaining engaged in direct patient care when needed.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with AHPRA.
• Working with Children check (if relevant).
• Experience at NUM level or equivalent.
• Experience in the Acute setting.
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to developing in a management role.

About the role

Sydney Southwest Private Hospital are seeking a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Nurse Unit Manager on a full-time basis for our Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic).

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational direction of the ward by ensuring efficient and effective fiscal management and promote high-quality clinical care for our patients. As the leader of this unit, you will be a key part of the hospital’s management team and will provide support to the Director of Nursing.

Position Responsibilities –

The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ward/unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital/facility.

You will provide operational direction for the unit/ward to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition, you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.

Salary ranging from $70.94 - $76.28 per hour.

Compensation and Benefits

$50.80 - $60.63 hourly
$62.74 hourly with 25 years' nursing experience.
