Job summary

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is seeking an Operations Manager (Reliever) to provide flexible leadership across Western Regional Service Delivery Teams. The role relieves the OM-US or OM-L&D during significant leave or vacancies and may also support other State Operations roles as required.

The position reports substantively to the SACO, with travel and periods away from home and primary workplace expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides flexible operational leadership across the Western Regional Service Delivery Teams, primarily relieving the Operations Manager – Unit Support or Operations Manager – Learning and Development during significant leave or vacancies.
• Leads the Unit Support Team (UST) and ensures effective, timely service delivery while guiding VICSES volunteers.
• Participates in Regional operational command rosters and undertakes Duty Officer, Agency Commander and/or Incident Management Team (IMT) functions during local, regional and state-wide operations.
