Job description

Would you like to use your skills to accelerate the global transition to a low-carbon circular economy?

About Cambi

Cambi is a world-leading provider of sustainable technology solutions that enable cities to turn wastewater sludge into valuable resources. We are a medium-size, Norway-based multinational company listed in Oslo on Euronext Growth, with offices in several countries. We have diligent employees from different backgrounds and more than 25 nationalities, and a growing sales network covering all continents.

Our core expertise lies in designing, testing, manufacturing, installing, and operating industrial process installations, used mainly for treating sewage sludge before or after anaerobic digestion in wastewater treatment plants. The technology, known as thermal hydrolysis, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and produces renewable energy, organic fertilizers, and various soil products while destroying pathogens and other harmful substances. Our systems have the capacity to cater to over 133 million individuals across more than 29 countries. We are proud of having cities like Oslo, London, Washington, Singapore, and Sydney among our clients.

About the Role

As Regional Manager, you will drive profitable growth and strengthen Cambi’s market position and customer relationships across Australia and New Zealand.

Your role combines:

  • Regional sales and market development – 50%
  • Key account management and O&M business development – 50%

You will own the regional sales pipeline, lead complex sales processes, develop Cambi’s O&M services offering, and act as the primary point of contact for key accounts in the region. The role also requires you to translate technical and operational needs into commercial solutions and coordinate effectively across Cambi’s sales, service, engineering and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

As the Regional Sales and Market Development,

  • You will develop and execute the regional sales and market-development plan for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Take ownership of the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, contract award and internal handover.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of projects and commercial opportunities.
  • Position Cambi’s technology, products and services by communicating their technical, operational, environmental and financial benefits.
  • Develop relationships with municipalities, utilities, consultants, contractors, technology partners and other relevant market stakeholders.
  • Understand customer requirements, procurement processes, and investment and decision-making criteria.
  • Develop opportunity-specific bid and sales strategies in cooperation with Cambi’s management and relevant internal teams.
  • Lead or support public tenders, contractor-led bids and commercial negotiations.
  • Coordinate proposals, customer meetings, workshops, reference visits and industry events.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and forecast information in Cambi’s CRM.
  • Monitor regional market developments, competitors, planned projects, and regulatory or procurement changes.

And as the Key Account Management and O&M Business Development,

  • You will act as the primary point of contact for all client plants in the region, ensuring high levels of customer support and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for the marketing, sales and delivery of service assignments, as well as spare parts sales, across the region.
  • Lead procurement activities involving suppliers, subcontractors and service partners.
  • Lead the development and commercialization of Cambi’s regional O&M service offering.
  • Identify business opportunities and support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Lead proposal development, service reviews, contract discussions and negotiations for O&M agreements and long-term service contracts.
  • Deliver site services such as maintenance supervision, troubleshooting, process monitoring and process optimization in collaboration with Cambi experts.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and conduct Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), or equivalent safety assessments when required.
We are looking for someone who is
  • Commercially driven and results-oriented.
  • Technically credible and curious.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Structured, self-driven and able to manage several parallel activities.
  • Persuasive and clear in written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative across technical and commercial disciplines.
  • Persistent and resilient during long sales processes and complex customer situations.
  • Pragmatic, accountable and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy.
  • Digitally progressive, with a practical approach to improving tools and processes.
Key qualifications and requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, technical diploma or comparable education in process, environmental, mechanical, electrical, automation, chemical or water engineering, or equivalent technical understanding gained through professional experience.
  • Experience developing, selling or managing O&M contracts or long-term service agreements.
  • Knowledge of wastewater and sludge-treatment processes, anaerobic digestion or related technologies.
  • Experience with public-sector customers, public tenders, engineering consultants and contractors.
  • Minimum six years of relevant professional experience in technical sales, business development, key account management, O&M services or industrial services.
  • Demonstrated commercial results in a complex B2B environment.
  • Experience preparing customer-specific solutions, proposals and business cases, as well as conducting commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
