Job summary

The Salvation Army in Darwin, NT seeks a Regional Manager to lead AOD and Homelessness services across the Northern Territory. Based in Darwin, you will shape regional vision, support leadership, and guide service development while collaborating with government and community partners to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable people.

Qualifications

• This role requires a degree in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience within homelessness, AOD, or related human services.
• Experience leading managers and supporting geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across government, community, and sector networks.
• Demonstrated experience supporting organisational growth, service development and change initiatives.
• Strong financial management including budgeting, forecasting and operational oversight.
• Experience driving governance, risk management and continuous improvement.
• A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and person-centred service delivery.
• The ability to build high-performing teams and foster a positive culture.
• NT Working with Children Check and NT Driving Licence are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction across AOD and Homelessness services in the NT.
• Support and develop Program Managers to build capable, high-performing teams.
• Drive service growth and contribute to new programs and initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with government, community organisations, and sector partners.
• Support implementation of national frameworks, models of care and best practices.
• Ensure services meet contractual, accreditation, governance and compliance requirements.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and resource optimisation.
• Champion collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Advocate for needs of people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
• Represent The Salvation Army in sector forums.
• Foster a positive, values-driven culture across the region.
